About Us
When I think about the creation of It’s Our Space, I’m taken back to a memory, sitting on the stoop in my neighborhood, surrounded by friends. We talked, we laughed, we shared. At that moment, I felt seen and heard. That sense of connection and comfort—that feeling of being safe to just be, is the heart of It’s Our Space.

It's Our Space
This is your space to exist—no mask, no pressure. Just your truth, held with care and without judgment. Even if it’s just once a week, you deserve a space to breathe. The name It’s Our Space reflects a deep belief in community. It doesn’t belong to one person, it belongs to all of us. Founders Story
Meet Mika Amos-Anthony, LMSW
Our story isn’t built on gimmicks—it’s built on real life and real people. It’s Our Space was created to build a community where people feel seen and heard—not just for the parts of their story they share easily, but also for the chapters they’ve kept quiet.
Growing up in Harlem, I witnessed the strength of community firsthand. Whether it was the neighborhood restaurant letting me eat daily while my dad paid the tab weekly, or the neighbors keeping a watchful eye as I played in the playground, I felt held by the people around me. My mother was known by everyone, and through her I saw what it means to be connected, cared for, and respected in a way that went beyond words.
As I got older, I not only studied the impact mental health has on our lives—I lived it. I saw it shape families, friendships, and futures in my own neighborhood. That experience fuels the work I do today.
It’s Our Space is more than a therapy service. It’s a movement to reclaim belonging. A space where everyone regardless of race, gender, identity, or sexuality, can feel valued, respected, and supported.
The Goal
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a healing-centered, community-driven space where youth and adults feel safe, seen, and supported. Through group and individual therapy, we foster honest conversations, cultural connection, and mental wellness. It’s Our Space exists to remind every person, especially those who’ve been overlooked, that they matter, they belong, and they don’t have to heal alone.
The Outlook
Our Vision
We envision a world where every person regardless of their background, identity, or story, has access to spaces that affirm their worth, nurture their mental health, and build lasting community. It’s Our Space strives to redefine what healing looks like by centering connection, culture, and care in everything we do.
